Hola!

Thanks for the wiki-gardening help so far. Even little stuff is much appreciated. There will be topics more fun to edit soon, like a collaborative timeline where you can sound off on what you think the ten most important events of the last ten years were. Let me know if you have any other ideas for tenth anniversary stuff that would useful/of interest.

p.s. You have the tools here too now. Steven Walling at work 03:01, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, thanks (for the welcome and the tools)! I think a timeline page would be quite helpful. It'd be nice if we could get some sort of "village pump" type thing going where we can post ideas for the wiki and events. One idea would be to slightly alter/modify the wiki's logo to be a bit more "celebratory". I'm not too artsy myself, otherwise I'd create some mock ups. :-) Killiondude 03:10, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

Feel free to use your best judgement, but I think we should leave Seattle for now. I am definitely going to remove events without basic descriptions and organizer info from the main page list before we begin promoting it more next week. I've also put in a request with WMF ops staff to have anonymous page creations disabled, which should avoid similar pages for the most part. Steven Walling at work 08:51, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. I found a lot of places I'd never heard about, in looking through Special:NewPages, that haven't filled out any information other than substituting the template that's preloaded. Turning off anon page creation sounds good. Once that happens, MediaWiki:Nocreatetext should probably be amended to make it clear to users what they should do. :-) Killiondude 08:56, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
