Talk:Singapore
- Mmmm, so exactly what is going to happen on 15 January? I doubt if there is going to be a big response to this. The SGpedian community is pretty small and not very active, it would seem. Jacklee 15:02, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
- So it would seem! We could always just meet for coffee or something. Can you make it, Jacklee? Or are you in the UK now? -- Gaurav 10:46, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- This requires more publicity! How about an event by Marina Bay area? I'll be keen to join in the organisation and execution - and we have little time left people!
- If a long-term Wikipedian can take responsibility, then we can ask Steven Walling at the Foundation to dispatch Wikimedia merchandise (mostly t-shirts and Wikipedia stickers and buttons) for this meetup. Today is the last day for that. Please sign your posts using four tildes (~~~~), thanks! Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington 12:17, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
- Also, please join the Wikimedia-SG mailing list for discussion. Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington 12:17, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure we have enough people around for the goodie bag! Let's see. I'll drop an e-mail to the mailing list tonight and we can weigh our options. Gaurav 10:46, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- A WikiHacks party off Marina bay sands sounds like a good idea: try South Coast Marina Bay Sands. It's a bistro and dinning place, in front of the harbour! =D KJie.Neo 10:32, 8 January 2011 SG
- I think a mini party would attract more interest
- I can come with my Collegue to Celberate this BIG Achivement made by any NGO .... Decide the place and publish it on this page and Facebook... Long Live Wiki ......
- Not a serious wikipedian but will join. But seems like no real plan leh...can the person who wanted to start this at least say which coffeeshop to meet at or something. Otherwise, I propose NLB for its central location/wifi. Siauderman 02:39, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion, Siauderman! I've got an excellent site in mind, just a short walk away from the NLB. Am waiting for them to confirm that they can host us, hopefully sometime today. I'll update the venue details when that happens. If that falls through, we'll definitely consider the NLB! Gaurav 08:16, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Can I put in suggestion? You guys may need some sort of publicity through media in order to create bigger public awareness on the gathering. May be can contact Straits Times or Today?
- ADVERTISE PPL!!! This was a lucky break for me to find. Many ppl will be interested I suggest you could campaign in schools. 8th Jan 2011 (UTC)
- That's a great idea! Does anybody know how to go about this? Gaurav 08:16, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hi there everybody! Just to let you know, if you don't mind, I could call up the community which has worked between 2005–2007 and other retirees who still watch the mainspace. --Tdxiang 06:21, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- That would be excellent, Tdxiang! Gaurav 08:16, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- Has anyone contacted the media to publicize this yet? I know someone from MediaCorp radio, and someone from SPH who may have more contacts in the right places. Iftekhar25 05:47, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- Okay guys, The New Paper's editor has expressed interest in covering not this event, but rather, prolific Wikipedians from Singapore. I'm still in the process of liaising with TNP for this.--Tdxiang 09:06, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

- Discussion is brought to the Wikimedia-SG mailing list. P.S. I believe we have a serious habit: It is Wikimedia, NOT WikiMedia. Small mistake, but might change the name of Wikimedia Foundation altogether... Hydriz 13:50, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
