Events

Sat Jan 15: champagne & cake, MIT at MIT Building 5 Rm 134

This is a short 1 hour event: 7PM-8PM. We will be on a tight schedule, and may only have the room until 8PM sharp, but will look for another place nearby for people to linger and converse. We currently need 4 more volunteers to help with greeting and cleanup for that 60 minutes.

Many Wikipedians are partaking in the MIT Mystery Hunt this weekend, and will be dropping in to join for a drink and piece of cake. There will be a toast, a collaborative cake-frosting, and a simultaneous Internet-meme-article-edit at precisely 7:30.

Our menu will include:

cookies, crackers, cheese
collaborative celebratory cake
champagne, creamsoda
crudités: celery, carrots, cool cucumbers, &c.

Sat Jan 22: nattering & nostalgia

An all-afternoon event, roughly 1pm-3pm, on Harvard campus (where depends on RSVP counts)

An afternoon of fun and reminiscences with a bit of film, special guests, and, swag! We welcome short toasts to Wikipedia from local luminaries, critics, trolls, academics, and someone named William who rolls.

Additional proposed entertainments:

  • a wiki-game competition with fabulous prizes
  • a make-your-own-banner photo shoot
